Welcome to EP 23 of the Talkin Toowoomba podcast for another week, we have been out and about this week visiting a couple of locals and celebrating the beard.
Nat Spary who along with wife Tiffany operates Base Services, 2nd shot, and the soup kitchen and does wonderful things for people in this community.

The Highfields Village is one step closer to reopening thanks to a $20000 donation by Clive Berghofer. Thanks to Clive for everything he does both in this region but also for Queensland.
Lifeline Darling Downs is holding their Stress Down Day Friday, July 24.
Promoting happiness, encourage help-seeking, and raise awareness of suicide prevention while raising funds for Lifeline Darling Downs and South West Queensland Ltd.

This week in 1969 on the 20th of July history was being made with pictures broadcast on B & W TV of Neil Armstrong walking on the moon. In the words of Neil Armstrong “One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind” forever remembered.
Toowoomba Base Services operates
The Basement Soup Kitchen operates Weekdays 11 am – 12:30 pm, offering anyone in need in our community a free lunchtime meal. We also provide swags, clothing, hygiene & food packs to people experiencing homelessness & access to outreach support services
In 2016 BASE Services established 2nd Shot an innovative pathway, which provides hospitality training and employment opportunities to people experiencing homelessness in Toowoomba,
To see people exit homelessness and live with a sense of dignity.
To break the cycle of homelessness by providing training and employment opportunities to people experiencing homelessness.

Also on Saturday, the Toowoomba’s writers group is meeting at Canvas Coworking at 2 pm, the topic, is Marketing your Book on Social Media
Empire theatre hosts the Cool Nights Big Band Saturday 25th from 8 pm.
The Highfields Pioneer Village is holding an open day to help with donations to get the Village open again on Sunday 26th of July between 10 am and 2:30 pm. Get down and show your support. See their FB page for more details
